In 2008, we helped Chancery Clerk Travis Childers win five congressional elections (four special elections) in 200 days.
He defeated a well-funded Republican opponent in a district George W. Bush won by 25 points in 2004.
Childers won in spite of four underhanded GOP TV commercials that attempted to link Travis Childers to Barack Obama and Rev. Jeremiah Wright in the height of the Rev. Wright controversy.
One publication said the GOP rolled out “every big gun” to hold on to the seat. Despite these obstacles, Childers defeated Southaven Mayor Greg Davis in a general election that Tim Russert called “seismic,” and one that Mike Huckabee said “badly damaged” the Republican brand. Childers won by 8 points in the May election and by 10 points in November. THE TEAM: Travis’ campaign team of Brad Morris, Tami Childers (one of the hardest working women in show business), John Anzalone and Ourso Beychok Johnson did great work (5 times!).
