In a district that has been held by Ileana Ros-Lehtinen since 1989, Republicans fought hard to maintain the 18th district of South Florida in 2008.

Despite raising over $1 million dollars, Democratic challenger and Florida businesswoman Annette Taddeo was unable to win the Republican-leaning district.

73% did not know where he stood on the issues of most importance to them.

Taddeo ended her campaign with dignity and the pride of knowing that she had stepped into the world of politics as one of the few Latina women trying to break down barriers and ran an honest campaign.
